I track multiple chunks of data, namely:
* daily weight;
* daily tanita body fat %;
* caliper body fat percent (1-3x/week); and
* Measurements of circumferences around my body.
In the past week, all of these measurements have risen. WRong direction. Bad times.
Often, although one measurement may rise instead of fall, other measures will fall instead of rise. A general comfort that all is not lost -- and that though one number may be out of whack this week, the overall direction is still positive. I've never had all indicators go in the wrong direction.
This week makes sense though: My eating habits were much more poor. Lots of sandwiches from 7-11; lots of chocolate out of public boxes; and donuts on one day. Interestingly enough, there might be as much info in what I didN'T east as opposed to what I did: Namely, little salad, and not much fruit (nor smoothies). This strikes me as something to keep a mental note of.
In the end, I need to, as usual, up the veggies and the fruits and easy on the chocolates. And workout like crazy.
I also bought an abs book today. I felt a little gay doing it -- but it is my overall goal :-).
Onward.
