The road ahead - tonight: grocery store and class

Had day off from externship and one of my classes was cancelled so this was an easy day. Got a really tough 15 mile ride in about 3p after I finished my homework for evening class (bettered my prior best performance on the route by a mere ten seconds (~45:46, roughly 19.7 mph).

After class I went to the store and was struck by a minor thing: I remember reading in another blogger's post that he was surprised that a clerk was hitting on him after he lost some weight. That seemed to happen to me tonight -- or it seemed as though it did. I think, it's a false correlation: Just because someone says something nice to you and, by happenstance, you're now 10 pounds lighter we assume "change -- must be because I lost weight." Not necessarily I think. My reason: just haven't lost enough weight for that to be it. 10 pounds is probably nearly imperceptible.

I saw a Real World show and noticed one of the skinny kids eating at a fried chicken shack thing with a gargantuan plate of food; not sure how that can be, there was probably 1,500+ calories on the plate. Maybe it's just the youth speaking.

Plan is to head out on the mountain bike tomorrow and get after it for a few hours of mountain bike riding. I'd like to do a good 15 miles of exploring.

RUNNING/TRIATHLON

I'm not sure what to do about triathlons this year. I've done them every year for the past decade or so, but I'm sort of tied up with work these days and I've done no running in an attempt to save my legs (and the short workouts, in my view, are better supplanted at this point by longer low-impact sports such as cycling and swimming). Maybe I'll do a tri or two later in the year. . . for now, I'm fine with focusing upon work, school, regular cycling and the necessaries of life.
